Born in Bucharest, in a very well known internationally family of musicians, Negru began taking piano lessons when he was seven years old and continued for more than 12 years. He started to perform as a DJ only a couple of years ago at after hours parties in Bucharest and immediately after he is taken by the legendary club Studio Martin as a resident DJ.
It doesn’t take much till Negru starts touring around the big Romanian cities and playing in the most famous amongst them, like La Mania in Mamaia and Club Midi in Cluj. He soon shares the DJ booth with artists like The Chemical Brothers or Fatboy Slim, like Loco Dice, DJ Sneak or Alex Under, and his name captures more and more the attention of the Romanian crowd, same as the one of the guest artists that he is playing with.
Perfect timing for him to start his career as a producer and spend time in his studio with Livio & Roby, Boola and George G. Cécille Records is the first label to “break the ice” and release a record with Negru’s signature near the Livio & Roby’s one. He’s currently working at his forthcoming releases that will be out on Cécille Numbers, Deep Moves and Soweso, but this won’t stop him to blow your mind with spinning from Chicago to Detroit influenced house music.
