PIEKEXTRA002 | EVERYBODY EP
Camiel Daamen began his journey through electronic music around 1998 when he started producing and dj’ing. He perfomed at venues in Holland and abroad, like Poland where he played the Sunrise festival as Da-Milio. He also played at Club Ekwador in Poznan a few times. Camiel was one of the residents for the NU! After parties in Westzaan, where performed with two friends under the name Neos Deos. These gigs offered a good experience for him to develop his housey, tech-house sound even further. As his sound devellopped further it became time to work as Camiel Daamen, his birth given name.
In the last few years Camiel Daamen has released quite some records on different labels. He’s been producing for a decade now and has released tracks on Method Records, Atlant, Cloud 9, Surge and Outside the Box music under different aliases like Da-Milio, Neos Deos and Gamelios.
Camiel made a fresh start when he performed at Minimal Fabric (Club Home) and Club Krang (Flex Bar) in Amsterdam in early 2009 with sets containing only his own productions. He signed some records and remixes on Surge Digital (USA), Magnitude Records (NL) and Atlant Digital (France) to get his new music out into the world. His “For Fleuro EP” on Magnitude reached nr. 4 in the progressive house chart and “Back to the start” on Surge got listed in the deephouse top 100 chart on Beatport. He also signed a few records at Hertzmusic, including a remix for Ante Perry’s Tasty which was released around September 2009. Daredo Music also signed his music for a release on Galvanic, The Last Ride EP did really well in all the charts and the track The Last Ride even reached nr. 29 in the Dutch Techno Top 40 of 2009.
Camiel played a set on Proton Radio for Magnitude Sessions of Francesco Pico and played the Stubnitz in it’s last weeks in Holland. Other gigs like Studio 80, TWSTd QNSNGHT, Have a Nice Day Festival, Outdoor Stereo Festival 2009, Catwalk Rotterdam, MP3 Live Amsterdam, ROCKIT Open-Air, Boom Chicago, 365 Live Radio, Decibel Radio and many many more, promise a musical future for this young man.
